crochet bean keychain

Wait. I know what you’re thinking. You’re wondering who is this crazy person and why would she ever get the idea to crochet something so random as a bean. But please let me explain myself, before you condemn me as a hopeless weirdo and leave this site forever.

My fellow crocheters, you will understand me when I say that I want to crochet everything I see. You know what I’m saying, right? Like when you see some really cute bag online and you say to yourself, “Hey! I could totally crochet that!” Or a pumpkin. Or a flower. It could be anything.

That being said, it is not surprising that, in the right circumstances, I should crochet a bean. And let me tell you, I have a great background story for this one.

You see, we had a giant inside joke at my school last year. It involved beans. Everyone thought that beans were just hilarious. It went so far, that bean humor was incorporated into everything we did. We had bean drawings, bean comic strips, even bean poetry. We were obsessed.

Eventually, I became so influenced by bean humor that I started thinking about crocheting them. One day, after school, I blurted out the idea to my classmates.

“Hey guys, what if I could crochet beans?”

They stared blankly at me for a second. Finally, the ringleader of the cult said,

“That would be… AWESOME!!”

And so, the crocheted bean was born. Later I decided to make it into a keychain, so it could actually serve some purpose.

So anyway, here’s the free pattern, in case you would actually want to make it.
