crochet summer watermelon bag

My friends, it’s finally here. Three months of warm and sunny bliss. Of water balloons, lemonade, and vacations.

But let’s face it. Summer wouldn’t be the same without the experience of sinking your teeth into a juicy, luscious slice of ripe watermelon.

And now that I’ve got you drooling all over your computer screen, let’s talk about this bag. I have a thing for drawstring bags. So do my little sisters. They almost destroyed this one by pulling it open and then yanking the strings as hard as they could to close it, when they thought I wasn’t looking.

But it survived! So yes, these are very durable. This is pretty much the only bag that I would make with acrylic yarn, just because you don’t need to worry much about stretching the handles anyway. But cotton would also work well, if you so desire.

Have fun!
